January CatWalk QP Blog Hop

This CatWalk is soft and elegant and so winter like!  There are tons of new CatWalk products to make into a SUPERB COLLAB. That is what I love the most about CatWalks how you can mix and match from different kits and products and designers and come up with something so UNIQUE and so YOU. I picked 3 CatWalk items: la Belle Époque by mellybird Designs, Retro Winter papers by Fiddlette Designs; Enchanted Winter kit by Fiddlette Designs. I also added one of my favorite alphas from my CatScrap stash: Traces of Print by Catrine.

In real life I love paper and I should say I collected it when I did traditional scrapbooking. Now in digi-land I just love kits with gorgeous papers and textures, This page started with the Enchanted Winter blue paper with the pink flowers.  I immediately saw the text print element that Fiddlette added and I HAD to use it, to add even more interest and texture to this gorgeous paper.  I added the text, changed it’s color to one from the palette and then applied a blending mode to the text. I made sure the text was visible but it will not make my journaling hard to read. I followed the pink flowers flow to add more elements following the same placement as the paper already had introduced.  This is the page that I came up with, our first snow of this year.

I have made both a title and a no-title version in case you would like to use this QP with a different title.

PLEASE download the TOU so you know what is allowed and what is not, I was not able to include it in the ZIP file due to size limits.

Let’s get into the hop!  You should have comed from Kelley’s blog and your next stop is Bethie’s Blog.

CWC #70 – What’s yellow, has polka dots and it’s not a card?

Hi everyone!  This week at CWC you have to make something that is NOT a card, it has to have yellow and polka dots.  Now, let’s just start by saying my polka dots are not traditional polka dots, but they make these cute little flowers, but just in case I picked a cut from the cricut that had some polka dots cut into and I doodle around them. As soon as the gals posted the challenge I knew I was going to make a bookmark.  Why?  Well, because I needed one, using my daughter’s bookmark didn’t seem right while reading a romance novel.  LOL!!!

CWC #69- Staying Warm…

This week’s hostesses for CWC #69 are: Heather and Linda.  The ladies decided on a “Stay Warm” theme… Here we finally need to stay warm the temps have dropped to single digits tonight.  Winter is FINALLY here… LOL!!! I made two cards for this week, I know a bit of an over achiever… LOL!!!

It was my niece’s birthday last week and I know how much she would have loved to have gotten some snow for xmas, so since that didn’t happen… we are sending her some…

I am not a big fan of these Sesame street or Disney cartridges because they are a pain to cut and put together, but I kind of like how it turned out… and yes, I think Elmo might be a bit color blind… check out that pattern combination he is wearing… OUCH…

The second card is apparently a portrait of my daughter… LOL! Check it out… LOL!!!!

CWC #68: Be inspired!

This week at Cooking with Cricut is all about inspiration!  This picture from justbesplendid.tumblr.com is ours for this week.  I was completely enamored of it.  It’s calming, beautiful and unique.  I remembered seeing this adorable nest with eggs in a cartridge and I knew that was the cut I HAD to use.

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

hmmm… mix feelings about this one. I think it was slow, not long but slow. It could have either had more substance or be shorter. I am sure I would have been sad if it had been shorter, what can I say I said I had mixed feelings about it. LOL!!!!

Happy Angry Bird Xmas to you too~

Here is what happen when I showed Bianca (my 5yr old) this tag shaped card.

  • ME: (thinking to myself: gosh this little fat baby cardinal looks so cute!)
  • BIANCA: Hey, mommy what are you doing?
  • ME: I just made this cute birdie.
  • B: Cute “angry bird”, he is just like the one in your phone.
I had to laugh at her comment, because he kind of looks like the angry bird.  So to all those angry birds lovers here I give you the xmas cricut version.  LOL!!
